Hallo,
ich hätte nicht gedacht, wieviele Probleme ich bei meinem Einstieg in das Thema VDR haben werde...
Ich bekomme beim Bootvorgang folgende Meldung:
You passed an undefined mode number
Press to see video modes available, to continue or wait 30 secs
Wenn ich dann auf Enter drücke bekomme ich folgende Auswahl:
Video Adapter VESA VGA
0F00 0 80x25 0F01 1 80x50 0F02 2 80x43 0F03 3 80x28 0F04 4 80x30 0F05 5 80x34 0F06 6 80x60
Ich habe einen Siemens Scenic sX mit nem D1171 Mainboard und OnBoardGrafik (Intel Chipsatz 810E) und dazu benutze ich einen kleinen S/W-Bildschirm (9'' SVGA Röhre). Ich möchte gerne, dass Linux ohne diese Frage oder wenigstens schon nach 1 Sekunde weiter hoch fährt. Nach ablaufen der Zeit wird automatich 80x25 gewählt, genau so soll es sein, nur eben nicht nach 30 Sekunden.
Ich habe schon viel im WWW rumgesucht aber leider nix gefunden was funktioniert hat. Im BIOS kann ich nix bezüglich VGA (Shadow, Cache etc.) ändern. Es muss doch ne .conf geben, wo man 80x25 festlegen kann... In der /boot/grub/menu.lst hat es irgenwie nix gebracht (Getestet: vga=769; vga=normal)

VGA=normal ist in dem Fall eigentlich die richtige Option. Damit startet der VDR sogar mit einer 20 Jahre alten ISA Karte sofort. Wundert mich das es bei dir nicht funktioniert.

werde es noch mal versuchen, habe die Datei bisher über Samba von Windows aus editiert und erst gestern erfahren, dass man danach noch dos2unix ausführen sollte. Vielleicht lag es ja daran... Werde es nach her mal testen, jetzt guckt meine Frau grad TV ;)
/boot/grub/menu.lst ist aber die richtige Datei oder ???

NACHTRAG So habe die Änderung gemacht und noch dos2unix ausgeführt. Du hast schon die richtige Datei am Wickel. Benutze aber bitte Putty um dich per SSH auf den VDR einzuloggen. Dann per MC oder Nano (ist ein kleiner Editor) die Datei editieren und speichern.

Habe es jetzt erst testen können.
Funktioniert ;D 32 Sekunden zum Hochfahren (Einschalten bis Bild auf TV) :)
