Hallo.
Wie bringe ich meinen VDR-Server der ein Abit KT7A-Raid Board hat für die Timer aufzuwachen ?

Ich lese im VDR-Portal das das Board mit IWName "bio_m6vcg" funktionieren sollte.
Wie läuft das ganze ?
Muss ich jetzt nur "bio_m6vcg" im OSD unter IWNmae eintragen ?
Ich finde keine NVRam Conf Datei auf der Platte, wo sollte diese sein, bzw. muss ich dann hier noch was anpassen ??

der Iwname sollte passen.
Laut "nvram-wakeup-mb.c ver. 1.283" steht dein Board mit deinem BIOS drin:
"bio_m6vcg", "", "8363-686A(KT7,KT7A,KT7-RAID,KT7A-RAID)", "", "Award Software International, Inc.", "6.00 PG", "07/11/2002" },
Was mich wundert, warum das bei der 0.5RC1 noch kommt?

Oder nimmst du die 0.4? (Signatur ??? )
Wenn du sicher gehen willst, mal so testen:
nvram-wakeup -I bio_m6vcg -A -s $((`date +%s` + 10 * 60)) --nowrite
Ob die Zeit richtig gesetzt werden würde, 10 Minuten in der Zukunft. Ohne checksum-error.

Actually, nothing was written into /dev/nvram nor into /dev/rtc.

Nur bio_m6vcg ins OSD schreiben und nvram als Wakeup-Methode.
Und eventuell noch die Updates einspielen, wegen der menu.lst.

Dann ist die Iwname-Liste nicht aktuell. Die "nvram-wakeup-mb.c (ver. 1.283)" hab ich seit 06.05.2007.

Evtl is noch ein Reboot nötig damit die Daten auch ins Bios eingetragen werden.

Ich musste das BIOS zusätzlich noch auf die alte BIOS-Version downgraden.
Ich denke jetzt funktionierts auch, er schreibts nun zumindest ins BIOS.
Mir bleibts nur die Frage warum er beim Befehl nvram-wakeup -I bio_m6vcg -A -s $((`date +%s` + 10 * 60)) --nowrite keine Fehlermeldung ausgegeben hat,
den ins BIOS eingetragen wurde nichts....

das kann ich dir sagen.
Das " --nowrite" am Ende bedeutet, daß nichts ins BIOS geschrieben wird (Simulation).
Erst wenn du das wegläßt, dann wirds ernst. (Kann aber auch das BIOS resetten oder zerstören, wenn die Werte nicht stimmen.)

Anschließend ist bei deinem Board noch ein Kernel-Reboot nötig und das ist bei der RC1 (Original) buggy. Deswegen hatte ich das Update empfohlen (hab von deinem Update-Problem gelesen).

Danke, werde mich durchlesen, das mit -nowrite war mir klar, habs natürlich ohne versucht, hat dann zwar keine Fehlermeldung ausgegeben, wurde aber auch nicht geschrieben.
Seit das BIOS-Versions-Datum stimmt (nach Flash), funktionierts :)
