Thanx for the link. Too bad it is mostly HD.

Channelpedia isn't sorted last time I checked or it was just the dutch channels.

Isn't it normal to have something like ARD on 1, ZDF 2, Regional on 3, RTL on 4.....Tele5 on 5, Pro7 on 7 etc

That is a obsolete discussion, because everybody has his own preferences und points of interesst.

Just take a channels.conf (such as our 1_Astra-completes-linowsat.conf)

http://www.easy-vdr.de/git?p=oneiric/.git;a=blob;f=e/easyvdr-setup-0.3.5/channels/1_Astra-complete-linowsat.conf;h=1bca1c36655cec609b9ff578c863bc3542a08fe1;hb=HEAD

Then I'll keep using my own list.
In Holland we have a kind of fixed numbering for channels, the channels even have their number in the channelname. Some channels were fighting over a position, like RTL5 & Net5 fighting for number 5. RTL5 won that fight.

But if I understand correctly in Germany there isn't such a preferred list.

For me the sort of the channels.conf is like my TV-Magazine called "TV-Spielfilm". There Pro7 ist Number 5. That makes sense for me and my familiy.

Everybody on his own style. My daughter has her favorite channels at the front...
